About

I seek to cultivate strong, authentic partnerships with my clients, empowering them to achieve their goals in a way that is enduring and transformative. My approach is rooted in empathetic understanding—I endeavor to perceive the world through my clients' perspectives. Recognizing the significance of cultural and social identities— race, gender, sexual orientation, ability status, age, religion, and more—I actively explore how these facets intersect with in the lives of my clients, especially when facing life's challenges. In my practice, I often hear clients express a sense of incompleteness or emptiness. I've come to recognize that oftentimes, this void stems from disconnected aspects of the self. My goal is to provide psychotherapy with great insight and attunement, to foster my clients' self-understanding, resilience, and sense of peace. I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University and my M.A. in Counseling from Marquette University and have been a professor of Psychology and Counseling for many years.
